Pinning

So last night Whitney sent me home with a homework assignment.  It really wasn't a homework assignment but, anything outside my normal activities I consider a project or assignment.  She wanted me to think about what I love most about Pinterest.  Since pinning is my new obsession it did not take me long at all to have an answer to this question.  Especially, since I love pretty much everything about it.  The only thing I do not love about Pinterest is how I tell myself I will only pin stuff or look for 10 minutes and then next thing you know it's been an hour.  For those of you who already have your invite to Pinterest I know you have had this happen to you as well.  Time seems to fly by when you are pinning.  What I love most about it though, is that you have an endless amount of ideas and information on Pinterest.

There are so many different things I have found on Pinterest that I want to try or make.  For instance, I found a recipe for a simple, homemade calzone, from squiddo.com. Some really good snack ideas for a get together.  My favorite is the bacon cheeseburger bites from Taste of Home, they look so good.

The desserts that I have found are so incredible.
The best  cleaning tip that I have found on Pinterest, courtesy of RealSimple, is to use a fabric softener sheet to get rid of soap scum on your shower door.

Plus, I have found several neat things to make for my little girl.  Well, once I learn to sew I will be able to make them. I also learned about a crafters best friend, Mod Podge on Pinterest.  These are just a few of the things that I have found through pinning and viewing other peoples' pins.

My favorite pins though are the ones on home decor and DIY craft ideas for the home.  I have so many projects now on my to-do list that I think it is making my hubby a bit crazy.  Some of my home projects now include several chalkboard picture frames, putting my wedding vows onto canvas, a barnyard dining room table, a picture wall, a toy box, and so many, many more things.

But these are all things that will help me spruce up my house and make it gorgeous.  Well gorgeous to me anyways.

What's our story?

Hi, I'm Whitney and I live in a condo (that we often refer to as "our box"), in the big city.  Organization and storage are key for condo living, and I have been learning some really great ways to do it.  My husband and I love the city life, but are anxious to find our dream home somewhere far, far away from the hustle and bustle.  So for now, I'm working on turning a once, really manly, bachelor pad into our stylish home.
And I am Lindsey.  I live in the suburbs with my loving hubby, my darling daughter, and my very energetic dog.  I'm in the process of re-decorating  my house one room and one step at a time.  I want it to be the comfy, cozy, and eye pleasing home that you never want to leave, along with being functional at the same time.

We are two everyday girls who've decided to start a blog, after becoming totally obsessed with re-decorating our homes, DIY-ing everything, trying new recipes, and throwing parties.  We thought it would be interesting to write about all our successes and failures, with the hopes that you will get some great decorating ideas, partying tips, new recipes, and creative diy crafts. We get most of our ideas from our favorite blogs and we add our own spin to them.  Hope you enjoy our adventures.
