DIY Subway Art

Have you seen Subway Art?  It's a really cool way to display sayings, favorite songs,  quotes, or just about anything you have in mind. The idea, is you use different fonts in different sizes and put them together on one piece. They can be any size and either framed or put on canvas.  Here are some of my favorites.

I really loved the address one from House of Smith.  So, I decided to make a piece with the addresses of the two homes I grew up in, the house my husband grew up in, and our first place together. Here's what I did.  I started by following a step by step tutorial on I am Momma Hear me Roar to learn how to make the jpeg file. I then printed the jpg file on a 16 x 20 poster from Walgreens. Next, I modge podged the poster onto a 16 x 20 canvas.  And allowed to dry for about an hour.
I sanded the poster with fine sandpaper to make it look vintage.

And lastly I covered the front of the poster with a thin layer of Mod Podge to seal it.

 AND.................
 my very own Subway Art.
